This is part of a series of works begun in mid 2016. I am trying to express a controlled and lyrical mark making in my painting that combines recognisable imagery with this abstraction alongside a subtle narrative. The narrative and meaning are discovered as I progress and juggle the contribution and focus of the different components. In this case the speech bubble relates to some graffiti seen on a bridge in the Don Valley in Sheffield.
